Cheap and Quality Wakeboard Bindings

cheap wakeboard bindings

If you don’t want to pay premium money for your wakeboard boots but still want a quality pair, I would recommend Hyperlite’s Remix Wakeboard Bindings.

Going for about $200, these boots are a notch below the $350-450 extreme binding price range, but still look and feel strong on your feet. Additionally, Hyperlite is a name you can trust and certainly a brand that I have trusted thoroughly throughout the years that I’ve been buying wakeboarding gear. There are definitely other cheap wakeboard bindings on the market going for under $150, but when you get into that price range, the boots start to become janky, uncomfortable, and ugly. Not to mention they will probably last you under a year. The bindings that I linked above are currently attached to my cable board; I’ve been using them for almost 3 years now and they are still going strong.

Easy Fit

These boots are really easy to slip in and out of on the fly. The lacing system is super simple and rarely gets tangled. This is part of reason they are my cable board boots. I like to head out to the cable park for a few quick rides and need wakeboard boots that I can slip in and out of quickly and easily.

Also, these boots are open toed which means that they will be more forgiving with different foot sizes than a closed toe boot would be. This is perfect for if you are sharing your wakeboard, or if you are buying for your kid, whose feet may still be growing.

Comfortability

This set of bindings features aluminum claw inserts on the sides and back which gives your feet a sturdy home while you ride on the water. The aluminum will ensure the boots stay firm on the board to give you the responsiveness you need to cut and jump effectively on the water.

Covering the aluminum inserts is a layer of soft plush material that makes the otherwise strong and rigid boot feel soft and comfortable on your foot. On the bottom of your foot you will have a foam-like insert that acts as a “dual-density footbed”. This just means it is cradling your heel and midfoot area for optimal support and shock absorption, while leaving the front of your foot more free to do the things it needs to do maneuver you on the wakeboard.

My Experience with These Boots

While I do prefer the boots I have on my boating wakeboard (Ronix Kinetik Wakeboard Boots) to these, you can’t beat the value of the Hyperlite Remix bindings. Like I said, I’ve had them for almost 3 years now and I have really worn them in, but they are holding up really well, which is very impressive for relatively cheap wakeboard bindings. I find them super easy to use, comfortable, and decently high performing. The only downside to boots like these are that the open toe style will make the boots slightly less responsive to your feet, but this really only matters if you are an experienced wakeboarder doing high-level tricks. I think beginner to intermediate wakeboarders will do just fine with these boots.

Pro tip: I would recommend buying a size up if you are somewhat in between size options, they run a tad bit small.
