Hyperlite Indy CGA Wakeboard Vest

Life vests are a necessity for wakeboarding. If you injure yourself or knock yourself unconscious on the water, your life vest will keep you afloat so you can be rescued! But let’s be honest, major injuries like this don’t happen all that often. So besides keeping you above water, the qualities I like in a life vest are comfort, style, and just not getting in the way. This life vest is does all of these things exceptionally well. I think it is the best life vest you can get for modest money on the market today.

Movement and Comfort

This life jacket has segmented foam panels in the front which allows for a lot of bend in the vest; this will give you great flexibility while wearing it. It also is built like a tank top via the thin shoulder sleeves. This means your arms will not be hindered much, giving you an optimal range of shoulder and arm motion

Style

I love a life vest that makes you look good on the wakeboard. This vest fits slim and tight, which will give you that sleek look when on the water. It will also really allow you to show off your muscles, if you’re into that. Another advantage of the tighter fit on this vest is that when you are in the water, the vest won’t ride up on your neck as much, which will save you from getting a rash. additionally, this vest comes in different color schemes. The black and red above is probably my favorite, but it also has grey and blue accents as pictured below.

Material and Padding

The outside material of this life vest is neoprene rubber and it includes foam padding on the inside. Neoprene rubber is very comfortable on the skin and it does not cause irritation. Neoprene rubber is actually what wetsuits are made out of, and in my opinion, wetsuits are the most comfortable things to wear in the water. This vest has “anchored foam panels” that are inside the neoprene rubber that provide 2 great purposes:
1. They keep you afloat in any water condition.
2. When you fall or wipeout on the wakeboard, the foam pads will break your fall and make it significantly less painful.

Price

Depending on the size, this life vest only costs $50-$80. Other quality wakeboard vests are sold for upwards of $150. All in all, you are getting great value for a lightweight, safe, and sporty vest. This is why I think that this is the best life vest on the market.
